what's making you smile?

___While studying one of my favorite books, Tess of D'Urbervilles, this year in English, I've learned something interesting. The character of Tess is a child of nature, whose circumstances change with the seasons. The highlights of her life are during the spring and summer while everything bad happens in autumn and winter.
___I can't help but feel that I'm like Tess in this aspect. Looking back into my life, my happiest moments have definitely been during the warmer months (not to mention the fact that I was born in the summer). So, with this thought in mind, I'm looking forward to spring. While the fall and winter brought stress, irritations, annoyances, days of bad moods, and miserable weather, I'm ready for spring to bring me smiles. So I thought I'd think of things in Spring that are making me happy.
  1. Spring Break and the week of no school it brings.
  2. My trip tomorrow to my college for a literature weekend.
  3. Easter! How can you not enjoy Easter (if you're Christian)?
  4. The little bunnies popping up everywhere for Easter
  5. The thought of discarding tights and jeans in favor of dresses and shorts
  6. All the pretty pastel colors needed for spring.
  7. The blooming cherry blossom tree in my front yard.
  8. The warm weather, of course! Nothing beats sunshine.
  9. The two hour delay schedule my school will have in April.
  10. Graduation!! June can't come soon enough!
So, what's making you smile for spring?

  1. Oh, you have a cherry blossom tree in your front yard... that's fabulous. I can picture the tree in full bloom this spring.

I love warm weather but not the hot weather we're having in Manila right now. It's not fun anymore.

    Have a great day! xoxo

  7. Spring/summer are definitely my favorite seasons as well (I was born in spring). I also noticed that when I was studying, my grades were way better during the summer semester, so I think there must be a definite happiness-motivation link there. I'm most looking forward to the warmer weather!

  9. what I love the most about Spring are fresh meals enjoying the breeze on the porch. what I love the most about Autumn are cozy meals when it's cold outside... why do I always connect love with food? lol!
