But I'm feeling incredibly, utterly depressed. All I want to do is crawl up into bed and sleep forever until all this goes away. Like this:

I found out I couldn't go to the college I've been placing my hopes on forever. The college I visited, interviewed at, stayed overnight, spent hours on my application for. The college I have taken on extra classes, an enormous amount of stress, and a lot of sacrifices for. And it isn't because I was under qualified, no that might have been easier to deal with, apparently they loved me in the admission's office.
No, it's because I can't afford to go there. That whole myth about being able to afford college? That's a big, fat lie. My family isn't poor enough to receive financial aid, but we're aren't rich enough only deal with the aid we do get. How's that for a slap in the face? You spend days like this: school with five AP classes followed by a two-three hour sports practice followed by work til close, not to mention the obscene amount of homework (which usually includes a few sections of Chemistry to read) constantly for what? Nothing.

I have an unexpected free day tomorrow with a ton of snow apparently coming. I'm feeling a day full of self-pity ice cream, feel good movies, some reading, and alone time. This will come again:

awww ((big hugs)) i wonder if you think its worth it try student loans? or you could do your schooling in a different college that might be more affordable then save up, and apply to transfer to your ideal school for your last 2 years.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm sorry to hear that . Isn't there any scholarship ? Or maybe you can go to other college that's cheaper , but still with the same quality . Good luck !
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear this! I kind of understand how you feel because I went through pretty much the same thing you're goin through. I had my heart set on doing an interior design course but because I couldn't afford a design school, I went to a public university and studied accounting. Well, no matter what, I hope you will cheer up soon. Now I'm gonna say something cheesy about how when life throws you lemons, you make some lemonades:P Sorry, but I really hope you smile again soon, you have the sweetest smile:)

I just heard a very good advice today and I think it will very well be applicable for you.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't get what you aim for because of some things beyond your control, then don't stop yourself from aiming for a better one. It will be a challenge for you to prove that you can do better. Don't stop dreaming and work on your dreams.
I think you should try taking out loans. I was unable to receive financial aid, as well - despite the fact that my mother is a single-parent. Therefore, I took out loans. I'll have to pay them back once I graduate - but at least I will have gotten my education.
ReplyDeleteCheer up - I can't stand seeing you sad!! :(
Feel better, beautiful!!

Thank you for your comment ! I hope you're feeling better now :)
ReplyDeleteHave you looked into private loans sweets? A lot of times they can supplement the loans the government lends out!
ReplyDeletesaw the comment above and I really think you should look into this, I have had to take out loans too because my financial situation is pretty similar to yours. If your planning on working while in school, you can even make payments while your there so it won't be so much when you leave. There are a ton of ways to save money in college, you can rent the books from the library instead of buying them, if you can live without a car, you don't have to pay for the parking passes..etc. I hope that your day gets better. :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I'm sorry to hear this. Have you tried scholarships for this school? Is there anything possibly they can do that's not associated with financial aid? Or try to apply to as many scholarships that you can??
ReplyDeleteI hope you can find a light here hun. Maybe look around colleges like the one you wanted that has the same oppurtunities & similar layouts that might be less?
I wish you the absolute best of luck with all of this.
oh my I am so sorry. Feel better soon pretty lady!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better from your above post, but sorry this happened to you love. Keep looking up!
