___Katy Perry is finally out with a new music video. It seems like forever since "Waking Up in Vegas" was made. I feel dating Russell Brand has made her a little more crude in her humor (or maybe it's just because I haven't seen her videos in a while?), and her image is transforming from flirty and retro to straight up outrageous and cartoonish. As evident in "California Girls," which is less a tribute to the golden coast and more about a sexed up Candy Land with huge cupcake tops, whipped cream spray guns (from the boobs of course), and a naked Katy Perry lying around in the clouds. Oh and a Gummy Bear giving the finger, which was actually kind of hilarious. While I'm still on the fence about the video itself (I would have much preferred a video set on the beach with some pretty cool and wacky retro costumes), I absolutely love the song, definitely on my summer play list.Thoughts on Katy Perry's return video?

The video is super cute, but it's not what I had in mind for the song. I also pictured the video taking place on a beach. I figured it would be more focused on California, not this sort of Candy Land.
