Basically, the columnist, Alex Knepper, is saying, and I quote, "...any woman who heads to a [fraternity] as an anonymous onlooker, drinks five cups the jungle juice, and walks back to a boy's room with him is indicating that she wants sex." If they do have sex, and she claims the next morning that she was date raped, it's complete crap. Pretentious college columnist aside, I do believe he has a bit of a point. I don't think it is necessarily his point to make, but it does bring up an interesting topic of thought.

___Girls, instead of blaming the guy who "date raped" you, perhaps you need to look at yourself? Be smart. No one forced you to drink those five cups of jungle juice. Yes, yes, everyone is drinking, parties are more fun when you drink, etc, etc. But hey, if you let yourself get so intoxicated that you either a) have sex with a random guy or b) are unable to stop him if he ignores your "nos" than you need to evaluate your own limits. Same goes for guys who are "date raped" as well.

___Drink smart (or don't drink at all), use your head, and defend yourself. We are smart individuals; we can do so much in our lifetime, impact the world--the sky isn't even the limit. There's no need to trash it all because we couldn't practice self control in a public social setting.

Disclaimer: Maybe I'm the wrong one to say this. After all I've never personally been date raped, nor do I even really have a whole lot of college experience to speak of. So I give you full reign to ignore my ideas, think me too naive, or find this post complete baloney. And, for the record, I'm not fan of the article.
