i've got cabin fever

It snowed alot here Friday night and all Saturday, and as a result I have been stuck inside my house. I wish I could say I was one of those people who like to throw on some snow gear and go gallivanting in the snow, but even in my childhood, I preferred the warmth of a fire and a good movie to watch or book to read. My weekend turned from one of busy chaos (three swim meets in two days!) to being filled with absolutely nothing (save from a party my parents hosted for the neighbors). As a result, I got a bit of cabin fever.I was catching up on some favorite blogs, and on Cupcakes & Cashmere I stumbled across churros. So, I thought to myself, hey why not try and make churros?
Lessons learned?
1. I should leave the baking up to Abby.
2. I should also refrain from making something without proper equipment
{In this case, a piping tube}
3. I should get my butt into snow gear and go tramping around the snow instead of attempting to make fattening food.
Ah well, c'est la vie.

  1. I love snow days...I always take my dog out for a walk :) It's a ton of fun! But staying in makes far more sense, I must agree! And thumbs up on churros!

  6. Aww hehe, well I wouldn't know the difference because I've never tasted churros before!

    I don't know why but I have a fantasy of staying in a snow cabin and lying down near the fireplace curled up with a good book. I hope it will come true one day:)

  11. oh man when it snows outside I don't want to go out at all! I hate how your pant leg gets all wet and it wets your socks too lol. I'll take fatty food over walking in snow anyday! :D

  13. I don't mind snow for the first or second day, but after that I prefer to admire it from the comfort and warmth of my home ;-) Churros are a dangerous thing... I think if I learned how to make these, it would be all that I'd eat.
