an ode to american eagle

I really ought to give good, old AE more credit. I tend to categorize it in the group of stores I worshiped as a preteen because I thought it meant "cool." It was one of those stores that I tended to accumulate multiple graphic tees from simply because they were the only things I could afford on my twenty dollar shopping limit.
But unlike Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch (two stores, which thankfully I have outgrown, save for the random sweatshirt or cute tank top), I still find myself loving American Eagle. It tends to make it on my stores to stop by when I'm at the mall, and I always find something I adore--usually for cheap. My current favorite jacket? My new polka dot tights? My favorite sweaters? My favorite sandals? Nearly half of my jewelry collection? All from AE.

So, sorry American Eagle, for not appreciating you more. Because I can honestly say you are one of my favorite stores, and I cannot wait until your spring collection goes on sale =)

  1. I completely agree on the AE front. I had almost given up on them after high school but I always stop in when I am at the mall after hitting F21 and the bookstore. They have the best clearance racks too! :)

  3. I have never been to this shop before because its not where I live, but those dresses are very cute! I tend to neglect shops I used to shop in as a preteen but have found a new place in my heart for them!

  5. American Eagle is really fitting for me. In cities I've lived in there's no Abercrombie and Hollister so a lot of my casual items are AE, love it :)

  7. I love AE too but my boys don't like it. They can't seem to get the right fit in AE. But I am obsessed with their accessories.

  9. I love American Eagle. Unfortunately, we don't have one is the UK. Everytime anyone goes to the States, I ask for stuff from AE.

  16. I don't think I've shopped there since I've been a teenager either, but that has more to do with me being able to access the stores... we don't have one over here. I do think they've evolved in a more fitting way than A&F. Those jackets and coats are my favorites!
