That was goal last year.
Be able to come out of my shell enough, find the right guy, even if he wasn't Prince Charming, and get one of those "whoa" kisses by New Year's Eve. And... so far it looks like I haven't succeeded at all. I mean, in all fairness, I still have a little less than a week left, but the chances are looking pretty slim.

I mean, yeah, of course it'd be nice to have the happily ever after kiss {actually first kiss period the end...}, but this year has been such a different experience--for the better-- that I don't even mind not reaching my New Year's Goal. I've met so many new friends, done so many new things.... Despite the irritations that come with a small public high school, and the undying wish to leave said high school since I was fourteen, 2009 was a pretty good year to me. =)

ReplyDeleteheh. I was never a big fan of kissing the guy I am with on New Years Eve cuz I dunno I always thought of it as jinxing it! But you're right nothing to be upset about not kissing anyone, after all it's better to not kiss anyone then end up kissing a douche that breaks up with you later right?!
ReplyDeleteA great New Year's eve kiss at midnight is always one of my resolutions, but alas this year I don't think I'll get one. It's okay, when I do get one I'll remember it & be so happy.

ReplyDeleteYeah, it's really just best to wait and let it come. Looking back, I don't mind how long I had to wait for my first kiss, because I ended up with a pretty cool story from it. I didn't really make resolutions last year and if I had I doubt I would have kept them, but I'm really happy with where this year has taken me. It's been so much more than I expected.

ReplyDeleteSnagging a foot-popping New Year's Eve kiss is always on my list of goals, as well; however, it won't be happening this year. Perhaps next year. Loving the fact that you're not disappointed - it only makes you strive harder to obtain it in the future!! :)

ReplyDeleteEven if it doesn't come on new years, it's better to do it when the time is perfect. new years kisses are usually a little forced, awkward and not as personal because so many people are around.

I always try to set goals for myself, but if things turn out a different way than I was hoping, I am still trying not to sweat it. It probably wasn't meant to be anyway.

ReplyDeletelast year i wanted to go to times square in NY to see the ball drop, and being from new york i felt like i should do it once in my life haha. last year i scrapped the idea & partied instead, but this new year's eve, that's where i'll be! haha
